Do You Know How Many Animals I Had To Sleep With To Get This Coat
A gustatory modality of his own medicine
Alert: Spoilers
Steve Brooks is a ladies' man who has non endeared himself to the women he has been dating. When 3 of them determine to surprise him and make him pay for his own nastiness, petty do they realize that he is immune to stay on earth, but only as a woman! When the switch is done, the condition that he is sent back is to take him atone for his sins and be kind to a woman.
When nosotros next meet Steve, he has been transformed into Amanda. In one of the most hysterically funny scenes in any the movies, Amanda, whose face we don't see, is going to perform a body part, in the bathroom, but can't find the right appliance to do information technology.
Thus begins the new life for Amanda Brooks, who tells everyone she is Steve's sister. The but problem is that as a woman, Amanda must learn how to walk in loftier heels and even control the way she crosses her legs non to reveal any of her newly caused charms. Her scene with her boss, Arnold Friedkin, is another highlight of this movie.
Amanda must begin to learn how to adapt to the new situation. She enlists her quondam pal, Walter Stone, to guide her through the corporate world of advertizement and the rat race in trying to stay a pace ahead of the other people in the office. Walter falls for Amanda; it's piece of cake to see why.
The best thing in "Switch" is Ellen Barkin. She gives a fantastic performance as Amanda. Ms. Barkin plays Amanda with manner, yet, she makes us see how this woman reacts to the new situation in her own way. Jimmy Smits, an otherwise squeamish histrion, is not as effective here with his take on Walter. In fact, he seems rather uncomfortable playing opposite Ms. Barkin. Jobeth Williams, Tony Roberts, Lorraine Bracco, Perry King are seen in supporting roles. Also, in smaller roles, we see Catherine Keener, Tea Leoni, and Michael Badalucco, who take gone to bigger things.
Blake Edwards' comedy is a joy to watch.

classic
Switch is but one of those movies you only take to love.Touching on offensive subject matter and being socially inappropriate past today'due south censored standards it tells the story of a womanizer named Steve who is murdered past iii of his ex lovers for being a male chauvinistic pig. He crosses over into a sort of limbo and beingness thats he'southward been so bad to the reverse sexual practice is sent back to globe to notice one female who truly loves him. He than can movement on to sky but if he tin't will get straight to hell. The woman he becomes is played past a young Ellen Barkin in her sexual prime and comic glory.Creative laughs ensue as he deals with homosexuality, struggles of sexism in the workplace and earth, repercussions of his past deportment from women and advances from all kinds of men including his all-time friend played charmingly by the than hunky Jimmy Smits. The movie is smart funny and wholly original in its exploration of its premise and fifty-fifty raunchy and envelop pushing by todays standards. Although not a perfect picture there are some pacing issues and questionable directorial approaches on how he approaches the fabric times. Switch is still a swell movie as timely every bit always showing united states just how lilliputian we've progressed in the age old war betwixt the sexes non to say their hasn't been a lot of progress but we still have a ways to get.

Am I the simply i who liked Switch?
Alert: Spoilers
Then many negative comments! Am I the only i who liked Switch? It certain seems that way.
I thought this was quite a funny and besides poignant movie. Ellen Barkin was both feisty and conceivable in her role and the motion-picture show had both moments of true comedy every bit well as sadness. In that location is A "Sky can expect" quality to the movie and that'south a compliment. It was wacky in some places, whimsical in others.
I thought the story flowed very well and that Switch is just a film to exist enjoyed. The premise is nifty and the way the movie went well-nigh the unraveling of information technology was too well washed. And Barkin was made for this part. This was my favorite performance of hers. I'm shocked then many people didn't like this. Peradventure information technology'south not the best movie ever fabricated but it was a sometimes wacky comedy combining an interesting plot that also happens to be thought provoking and well casted actors/actresses. The pic was never boring and I liked the premise of the whole thing. Saw it quite awhile ago but this is one I'd honey to see again. My rating is 7.5 out of 10.

Hey, if I'm gay, then Clint Eastwood'southward a transvestite.
Alright, the premise is hokey, but non completely as Mel Gibson did it nine years later. I was funny and it had ane thing that Gibson couldn't bring, and that is Ellen Barkin.
Yes, I am prejudiced. Ever since I saw Barkin in The Big Easy, I take been in love with her quirky smile and hot torso. She is the main reason I will be plopping my bucks down in a week to encounter Bounding main's Xiii. And, she did get a Golden Globe nomination out of this (Losing to Bette Midler of all people, if you can believe it!), so information technology is not as bad as they say.
I merely had two criticisms: She never got the hang of walking in heels, and the ending sucked.

a ladies man learns to really love
A man who knows but how to apply and discard women dies prematurely. He is offered credence into heaven just if he goes back to world in the form of a woman and actually loves someone. This was a very funny program; Ellen Barkin was wonderful equally the man in a woman's trunk. The ending was a real tear jerker, so have a hanky ready. 5 stars.

I love it!
I could not believe some of the comments about this motion-picture show! Unfunny???!!! Depressive???!!! I thought information technology was wonderful! Ellen Barkin is brilliant! Vivid! Her first 5 minutes on screen is hilarious! I remember this movie is misunderstood. Pink Panther fans await certain things that but exercise not happen in this movie. Information technology is funny from the get-go, biting-sugariness at the end, it is about love, friendship, meaning of life, soul searching, men and women, God and Devil, and even has a pretty good basketball one-on-one. I dear it. I watched it many times over the years, I continue finding new little things to beloved about this flick, it is one of my all-time favorites and I give it an awesome 8 out of 10!!!

Barkin turns on Switch
This is i of my favorite Barkin vehicles. In fact, without her wonderful comic turns this one would sink nether its constrained plot. Besides Barkin, Jimmie Smits and Lorraine Bracco (of Sopranos fame) give good supporting performances. The idea and story Blake Edwards uses is a variation on Victor/Victoria, which was good enough to be recast as a musical, just here his ordinarily daring ideas don't quite brand the grade. Even so, this is one of those comedies that calls for repeated viewing, because one time you've laughed at some of Barkin's comedic scenes, a 2d viewing will accept you laughing even before the scene unfolds. Roger Ebert commented that a deeper exploration on some of the themes would accept fabricated information technology a timeless comedy, and I'd agree with that. But if you lot merely want to express joy till your sides ache, I'd recommend this one for your funny bone.

Giving a gander at the life of the geese.....
Warning: Spoilers
Distressing, Charlie, only good looking men who know how to treat a woman become to avoid the fate of Perry King hither. The early 60's Broadway play "Bye Charlie" (starring Lauren Bacall) which became a flop moving-picture show starring Debbie Reynolds became the basis for this Blake Edwards update where the individual mistresses of a naughty New York playboy gather and plan his demise. His decease isn't going to exist an easy 1. The three of these women don't have the strength to hold his head underwater, then it's finally a gunshot which does him in and sends him straight to hell where it is judged that he must return to life inside a adult female's body with the same mind and detect somebody who really loves him/her within a set period of time, otherwise be eternally damned.
Coming back to globe in this classic variation on "Hither Comes Mr. Jordan" and its remake "Heaven Can Wait", King changes into the sultry voiced Ellen Barkin, and when he wakes up after having a supposed nightmare of beingness murdered and finds out that he's now a adult female, he/she confronts his/her "killers" and thus begins a scheme of blackmail and life living as a adult female, pretty much doing the same affair all over once more. But a he-man like the deceased King isn't going to play around with men; this "switch" makes him/her get from "playboy" to "playgirl", a lesbian who seduces a woman simply to get a business deal through and ultimately breaks her heart simply as he had done with the women who did him in.
Along the mode, there'due south his best buddy, Jimmy Smits, not as much of a playboy, or at least with a bit more ideals, and when the new best buddies of man and adult female accept a bit too much to drink, information technology ends up in a scene that some people might allocate as date rape. That is one chemical element which some of the critics truly institute agonizing and why some panned information technology. Merely there couldn't be the terminal plot twist without that, so sometimes a writer has to accept liberties with skillful taste in gild to satisfy the storyline. The performances of Barkin and Smits are excellent, and her reaction to what happens with them is priceless, as is the twist which occurs because of their one-time run into.
In supporting roles, Tony Roberts, Jobeth Williams and Lorraine Bracco are all excellent. Williams is a tough direct broad who tells it the way she feels, particularly when encountering a woman who comments on her mink, "Do you lot realize how many poor animals had to dice so you could get that coat?". Roberts plays Rex and Smit's dominate who is an older version of Male monarch's sleazy character, and when Smits gets the axe, he gives him an outstanding exit line. From the moment y'all see Bracco, she is truly unforgettable as the lonely lesbian Barkin takes advantage of. You can see she's been used past men which is why she switched to women (some other controversial plot element which probably disturbed a lot of lesbians), only at that place's a calorie-free sense of reality to her hurting.
This is a film which is going to give a lot of mixed emotions to people, certainly not a flawless film, but 1 which deserved to get a bit more than acclamation than it received. Information technology's probably considering of Barkin's energetic operation that made me like this as much every bit I did, but information technology's also the gorgeous Joni Mitchell song which opens and closes the film, and really gives some morality to an otherwise shady story. Take this film for the argument it is trying to make on male/female relationships and the theory that people really can modify when destiny calls for it. They may not need to be murdered and brought back in the body of the contrary sex to do it, but there is certainly hope for everybody.

One of the Funniest Films Ever
Warning: Spoilers
I can't imagine why this motion picture has such a low rating. Many times I have watched the cute and hilariously funny Ellen Barkin pretend that high heels are new to her. Not to mention the great scene where he/she discovers that he/she has come up dorsum to life as a woman. The battle of the sexes is vividly portrayed in a very humorous way. Likewise amusing is the portrayal of advertising men every bit so low they would accept to climb a few notches to accomplish the moral level of an ambulance chasing lawyer. Switch is not only a great comedy that stands the test of time but has a touching ending that adds another dimension to the story. Switch is 1 of my all time favorite films.

Redemption Through A Gender Switch
Warning: Spoilers
Switch (1991): Ellen Barkin, Jimmy Smits, Perry Male monarch, Jobeth Williams, Lorraine Bracco, Tony Roberts, Bruce Payne, Lysette Anthony, Basil Hoffman, Kevin Kilner, Victoria Mahoney, David Wohl, Catherine Keener, Tea Leoni, Rick Aiello, David Gale, Robert Clotworthy, Herb Tanney, Dena Burton, Alana Silvani, Michelle Reese, Michael Badalucco, Gregory J. Barnett, Fred Lerner, Jim Lovelett, Religion Minton, Linda Dona, Elena Statheros, Robert Towers, Ross Brittain, Richard Provost, Lenny Citrano...Manager Blake Edwards, Screenplay Blake Edwards.
Director Blake Edwards was no stranger to comedies with themes of gender and male/female dynamics and conflict. "Victor/Victoria" which starred Julie Andrews and James Garner had preceded this 1991 moving picture. "Switch" is a surreal/fantasy comedy nigh one human being, sexist, awful Steve Brooks, and his transformation and redemption after death. He has been murdered past iii women- Liz (Lysette Anthony), Margot (Jobeth Williams) and Sheila (Lorraine Bracco) in a bathtub. He is given a risk to go to Sky and non Hell by God (a combination of male and female voices), merely the catch is someone has to fall in love with him. Because he is the same old, sexist, womanizing, rotten pig, it's going to be hard for anyone to love him. Edwards wrote the screenplay and because he has been the talent behind "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and other well-written films, the script hither is a jewel. By 1991, the bug of transgender operations and lesbians in our modernistic world, working and wanting the aforementioned kind of life nosotros all desire, was non new nor entirely shocking. The film, still, is never adjoining on gross or over-the-top silliness, much like it would exist had this been re-made for today's audiences. It is always filled with brilliant touches from dialog to acting. Especially striking is Ellen Barkin in the principal role. Essentially, she's a man in a woman's body. She totally convinces us that she's never worn high heels so that when she walks with a limp and in a very manly fashion, it's more conceivable acting and in keeping with character. Her tone of vox, a Brooklyn-type of accent, her rough, gutsy ways and candor, are all very prissy touches. Jimmy Smits equally her friend, Walter, is fine but goose egg impressive. Await for Tea Leoni in a minor part. The film has a lot of middle. The music is by veteran film composer and contemporary of Edwards's, Mr. Henry Mancini. This is the story of a man's redemption through transformation. As a adult female, he realizes life's tough just has advantages. He feels, coincidentally, more than empowered as a woman than as a man. He even gives birth to a baby girl. His experience has finally opened his eyes and he recognizes how bad he has treated woman in the past. This is a well-executed slice of meaningful comedy and by a principal director. I've given it an 8 rating because perhaps it's quality is lost in today's more enlightened world. In 1991, all the battery of gay/lesbian bug or transgender studies was merely to raise consciousness and now that consciousness is no longer an issue. The cinematography is splendid. New York City in the early 90'southward, the earth of concern at the fourth dimension and male/female conflicts which take e'er been effectually are all office of the mix of this wonderful comic moving picture. Enjoy "Switch".

Lots of laughs
Woke up to this motion picture on Cinemax this morning. I didn't know what to expect, and I found myself laughing at the daffy, zany, madcap adventures of a guy in a woman'southward body.
Ellen Barkin gives a hilarious operation. The awkwardness off her transformation was humorous and realistic. She played off of her young man actors with precision and flow. Playing the "tough" chick kept me in stitches.
The scene I laughed at the most was the bar fight, which got really over-the-peak and out of mitt. My laughter reached it's climax when Barkin jumped on the guy's back in the center of the bartender'south station.
I usually grade a pic on entertainment value and this one gets a 10 out of ten for the simple fact that it made me laugh out loud more any other. (Okay, tied with Billy Madison). I rarely laugh at comedies more than twice a movie, so I'1000 recommending this movie to anyone who wants something to actually express mirth at.

I'd wish they'd brand more films similar this.
I just finished watching this moving-picture show on youtube and i absolutely enjoyed it, I beloved gender bender films and this 1'southward on my top listing. "Switch" is another moving picture to explore the differences between men and women in a lite romantic comedy setting. Steve, a selfish womanizer is lured by three of his previous conquests to a nighttime he imagines will fulfill his lusts in the arms of these women. Instead, Steve is shot by them after a botched drowning try in the hot tub. God refuses to let Steve into Heaven until he tin notice one woman who truly loves him unconditionally. In much the mode of Job, Satan has a take chances to bedevil the situation by returning Steve as a gorgeous woman, Amanda, who receives the same treatment from the men she meets that Steve would have given her. The movie's plot focuses on Steve/Amanda's attempt to detect one adult female who loves him unconditionally. The only affair i hated almost this film was the ending, It was a letdown it wasn't what i expected but i judge it was OK during the fourth dimension of it'south release.
If you haven't seen this film, I recommend you practice considering it's worth a lookout man. Information technology's not really an Oscar worthy movie so don't take information technology too serious.

"Pretty Skillful One-act!"
Alarm: Spoilers
Ellen Barkin, Jimmy Smits, Perry King, JoBeth Williams and Lorraine Bracco star in Blake Edwards' 1991 comedy. King (Course of 1984) plays Steven Brooks, a philandering, ad exec who gets shot past 3 women. He's sent back to earth, but must live as a female, Amanda (Barkin) and detect honey in gild to go to sky. Smits (Running Scared) plays his best pal, Walter, Williams (Poltergeist) plays Margo, one of Steven'due south girlfriends/lovers and Bracco (Goodfellas) plays Sheila, a businesswoman. This is a pretty expert comedy that sort of shares similarities with "Oh God, You Devil!" and "Heaven Can Wait," Barkin is great in it and she and Smits have proficient chemical science. I recommend this.

Some of the funniest scenes around
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't seen this movie for ages only upon reading these reviews I'll certainly dig it out. I do think Switch as one of the funniest movies I've seen. Ellen Barkin'due south performance is so funny as a female extra playing a human being in a woman's body. In that location'due south a scene where she staggers downwards a corridor in "unfamiliar" high heels and suddenly crashes out of sight that is the equal of David Jason's scene in "Only Fools and Horses" where he leans on a non-existent bar-superlative and crashes to the ground. Pure bright visual comedy. The excellent parts of the motion picture probably don't add up to a pinnacle-grade film in total but recommended for viewing just for best bits.

Great acting by Ellen Barkin
btm1 7 November 2010
Advertizing exec. Steve Brooks, a sexist male chauvinist pig, is invited to a party past a lady friend who suggestively tells him the but other guests will be two other women who he is fond of. The party gets sexy when the four go into a hot tub, but together they demark and murder him. God and the Devil aren't sure where his soul belongs, so they tell him that he will exist allowed to return to life for a limited time in club for him to find one adult female who likes him. If he doesn't notice at to the lowest degree 1, he will go to Hell. In club that he can't just apply his power to amuse women to find one that doesn't know him, they bring him back every bit a woman. She retains his retention and chooses to call herself Amanda Brooks.
Ellen Barkin has a remarkable operation equally a womanizer in a woman'southward body. There is a vast difference in personalities between Barkin's Amanda/Steve and Julie Andrews' Victor/Victoria.
Lorraine Bracco also is bang-up in her quiet understated role as major cosmetics client Sheila Faxton.
In addition to watching some great performances, the flick has some pretty funny bits, although some got repetitive. In particular, I thought the the scrap well-nigh Amanda stumbling when wearing loftier heels was repeated too often. Regarding the stiletto heels, why would Amanda continue to cull the highest of stiletto heels? As well, while obviously gorgeous, I don't think then 37-year onetime Ellen Barkin looked equally strikingly sexy equally Amanda as the male characters (and Amanda herself) thought she did. She didn't seem equally hot as the younger actresses who planned Steve'southward murder.
The resolution at the ending also was somewhat disappointing to me.

A perfect (funny) film about switching sex.
I've read many previews of this picture show, and of course you can dive deep downwardly and demand it to focus on all the different problems, but then Y'all have picked the incorrect movie. There'southward is VERY few movies in this genre, and this one gives you MANY LAUGHS ! Sure they are a scrap simple, but the moving picture give You a expert time and plants some seeds about the gender problems. Whether you lot are sober or a bit "pixilated", information technology volition heighten your mood :) It's strength lies in its easy to recognize human behavior and to encounter this in the opposite sex, is dandy ! The basic message is that everyone needs to be seen and be loved, and how we go about this, frequently in a very "stereotype" fashion. Also how we can alter and become more than donating/unselfish. The motion-picture show starts out with brazen humor and ends upwards with me in tears as I recognize feelings that i have in me, but are besides "good" in roofing upwards. Bottom line = Both men and women should enjoy this every bit well.

Ellen Barkin = Gilt
Alert: Spoilers
Ellen Barkin's performance in this film is nothing short of spectacular! Her casting in this pic was pure brilliance. She captures the middle and soul of a homo stuck in a woman'southward body. I've enjoyed this film ever time I watch information technology and information technology never loses its charm.
Lorraine Bracco shines in an early performance manner before "The Sopranos" and while some have said she seems subdued or drugged, I recollect she captures the lonely woman hurt too many times past previous lovers quite well! Jimmy Smitts, Jobeth Williams, and an over-the-pinnacle JM J. Bullock round out the cast and are all quite enjoyable to picket (the parrot in Bullock'southward scenes steals the evidence though!).
I have to agree with some other review that Clannad and Paul Young's performance of "Both Sides Now" is incredible! Fit with the images of clouds (at the first) and the beautiful ILM produced matte painting of New York City at the ending is nothing short of inspiring.
Still, Ellen Barkin RULES in this film and it is a niggling sad that she was disregarded for an Academy Honor Nomination (equally comic roles then ofttimes are). At least the Gilt Globes got it right!

Walk the walk
Alarm: Spoilers
Actually, this is what I would call a wise one-act. It is funny and Ms. Barkin is terrific in the part but it does speak to the mod adult female's life in a way I constitute true and meaningful. I work and live very much similar a man in a professional sense with all the toughness that requires but I am a woman and a mom. I saw in Barkin her personal noesis of being a tough, directly woman surprised by the feelings that come up with pregnancy and childbirth. For some of us it truly is the introduction to a dear similar no other. As to the end, there is an sometime Greek legend of the wisest of men who is given the opportunity to experience life and sex activity as a woman in society to decide whether it is more pleasurable to be a adult female or a homo. He opts for woman. Ellen Barkin's character and maybe something of the actress herself based on the performance, knows that is also difficult a question to answer quickly and ponders it far longer with the stop left open up. In many times and places the answer would be easy because women accept awful lives in many cultures but in the here and now, Amanda speaks for me and to me and I give thanks Ms. Barkin for communicating and so well.

Blake Edwards rocks! this time anyway
I Love this movie. I'chiliad a strange person though, and so it makes sense this is one of the greatest movies no ones ever seen. Blake Edwards characters are made more than vibrant by combining a pessimism and animalism for life that makes his brilliant dialog both poignant and very funny. Like the current backwash of stupid funny, or anything with Seth Rogen? Forget I mentioned Switch at all, its non for you. Like witty developed comedies that went by the boards? Cheque out Pyrates{1991}. 10 lines huh? OK. I didn't know much about Ellen Barkin before this movie but, it seems comedy was not her forte. WOW. Talk nigh missing your calling. She is a scream. Smitts was a hot property at the time and was OK merely maybe a little fleck of a lightweight in this. JoBeth was killer (no pun intended) funny. Im done now.

awesome movie
Alert: Spoilers
Information technology was a cool movie. A man has to go a woman to like him every bit a person. To make sure he does non cheat the devil tell the gods to make him a woman, so that the sexual practice part does not get in the style. The movie shows that the attitudes of both women and men stink when it somes to sex. Equally Frasier Crane put it, sex is what men desire. Women utilise sex to get what they want. JoBeth Williams for example has just every bit bad an attitude nearly sexual practice as Steve/Amanda. When she is walking down the street in a fur coat, one would-exist animal activist cries "Do you know how many animals were killed to make that coat?" and JoBeth replies, "Practice yous know how many rich men I had to f**k to get this coat?" Women use sexual activity also to their reward.
Steve/Amanda was not really a bad person. When he died the first time, the Gods told him that he had already earned plenty credits to become into heaven. Simply he had to find a woman who truly liked him every bit a person. I think the Gods knew Steve was trying, and they gave her a true test by non simply making her pregnant, but having i of Jim'south 10-chromosome sperm cells fertilize the egg. The gods were trying to show steve that, forget the developed women. He could exist a practiced parental figure to a young girl. Finally when the baby was born, she took an instant liking to Steve, and he died again (i.due east. got accepted to sky).
I may exist just speculating, but when JoBeth, other 2 killers, Tea Leoni, etc die, they will be burning in hell right away. I wish they wrote a sequel where Steve/Amanda came dorsum...but it'd be as well much like Chances Are.

Cute and intriguing!
What a way to get. When a man mistreats a woman, he comes back equally i. In the flick "Switch", information technology makes all sense. Perry King known as Cody on NBC'southward "RipTide" plays Steve Brooks, a known playboy who gets his just desserts. During a night out with some ex-girlfriends, he gets a taste of his own medicine and and so some. He gets killed. In the Bible, adulterers and fornicators have their part in the lake of fire. However, he does become a 2d chance of life. Non as Steve, but equally Amanda(Ellen Barkin). His all-time friend Walter(Jimmy Smits, LA LAW and NYPD BLUE) starts to get suspicious of her. Non knowing that Steve was killed by the exes, it'due south upwardly to Amanda to nail his killers. When Walter and Amanda get married, the human relationship is curt. She has a daughter and dies. At least there was some redemption there. Born a man, see the errors of your ways as a woman and go to Heaven. About men would wise upwards from their playboy means, and there are those who just don't get it. A very adept movie, and got some biblical sense in it too. iii out of 5 stars!

I liked information technology
Alert: Spoilers
This flick was quite proficient. Sure it was non an out and out slapstick comedy, but that wasn't what it was aiming at.
The grapheme experiences ups and downs, and in the finish learns the nearly important lesson of all.
The ending gave it far more than depth than your boilerplate comedy, and that in my mind raises it above average.
If I had to pick a bad point, it would exist the over harping on the difficulty of walking in high heels. The grapheme should have mastered that eventually.
Still all in all this was not bad, and it deserves to be more widely distributed.

I actually don't know clouds at all
Warning: Spoilers
for me, my life is dotted with movies that stand out from the crowd because I remember aspects of them so conspicuously; The thing that sticks out nearly Blake Edwards is that his writing is so wonderfully emotional, ofttimes whimsical, comical and human...In many respects I run into aspects of Blake Edwards influence in the stylings of joss whedon. So. I'm in boarding school, and the guys come up in with a collection of movies that they planned to lookout man over the weekend, ranging from the terminator and its sequel, to...lethal weapon, I retrieve it was. But I noticed that our foster carer, a lovely woman past the proper name of Linda. She was belongings what turned out to exist switch in her hand, and that night turned out to be something of an emotional growth for me. In my experience, one of the few pleasures in life, are films that reach y'all and make you understand the subject affair and not make yous feel guilty about letting a tear autumn freely from your cheek when the principle character dies giving nativity for example.
This is the cadre of the motion-picture show. The character of Steve is murdered past a "coven" of his ex lovers for his womanising ways, and ends up in purgatory, because he hasn't done enough bad deeds to warrant being condemned to hell, and hasn't committed enough good deeds to exist immune into heaven, and so he'south sent dorsum to globe to prove that he is capable of giving upwards his life in an act of pure honey...the twist is though, Steve is sent dorsum to earth every bit a woman, which by the way leads to some of the best comedy scenes I've seen in a while when it comes to gender bough movies- a lot of movies could learn from this one scene alone.
Seriously folks, grab your girlfriend, run into if you can dig out the movie from the old rental store collection, advertizing enjoy storytelling from an era that is gone, and that I suspect volition never probable exist seen again.

One of my favorites movies from the 1990'southward.
Steve Brooks (Perry King) is a notorious womanizer, he thinks that all adult female loves him merely he is dead wrong. One dark, three adult female throws him an surprise party only they actually succeed murdering him. Now Steve finds himself between Heaven and Hell... He hears the voices of angels telling him, he tin can get to Sky if he tin can find one woman, who can honey him. The next twenty-four hour period, Steve wakes up from his bed similar naught happens. But the Devil (Bruce Payne) makes an deal with the angels to make him endure for his mistakes and to become an attractive woman (Ellen Barkin). When Steve wanted to accept an leak, he finds out, he has no penis and now he realized he is a woman. Now Steve calls himself/herself Amanda. Amanda takes over Steve's job and he/she finds out that his best friend Walter has the hots for him/her. Since the soul of Steve is in Amanda'south trunk. He/She realized, it is tough begin an adult female.
Written and Directed by Blake Edwards (Breakfest at Tiffany'southward, Skin Deep, 10) fabricated an amusing, fantasy/comedy with an terrific performance by Barkin with the middle of a stud. Barkin's makes Edwards' somewhat flawed premise works, thanks to her. There is some practiced supporting performance coming from Smith's as a charming, proficient-hearted man and JoBeth Williams as a trashy rich woman, who is 1 of the three killers, who murdered Steve. Looking at this today, the movie is still pretty funny at times and it hasn't dated that much. It is certainly one of Edwards' better movies earlier he retired.
DVD has an abrupt anamorphic Widescreen (ii.35:i) transfer and an expert Dolby Stereo two.0 Surround Audio. DVD likewise includes Cast & Crew data and the Original Theatrical Trailer. "Switch" did went on have an small loyal cult following. I call up seeing this movie with my parents, when i was nine years sometime in a movie theatre. I recall having an good time watching this and i still do today. Don't miss this one. Sentinel for an young Catherine Keener equally Amanda's assistant in a bit part and Téa Leoni equally a model. Panavision. (****/*****).
